The Visconti-Sforza version, known as the oldest surviving tarot cards
The Italian publisher Lo Scarabeo's Visconti Tarot is now available in a mini size.
The Visconti-Sforza Tarot is famous as the oldest surviving Tarot deck.
These cards are said to have been commissioned by the Duke of Milan, Francesco Sforza, to be made by the painter Bonifacio Bembo (some say Antonio Cicogna) around 1460, and their design differs from that of today's standard tarot decks.
Also, when it was first discovered, four cards, including the Devil and the Tower, were missing, and it is unclear whether they were lost or never existed in the first place.
The deck consists of 78 cards in total, 22 called the Major Arcana and 56 called the Minor Arcana.
The name and number are printed on the top left of the card.
The case comes in a cover-type hard box.
