A rare Marseilles edition with a cubist feel

This tarot deck is a reproduction of an 1801 tarot created by the Marseille master card makers JHARNOUX and AEAMPHOUX.
It is one of the rare perfectly preserved ancient Tarot cards, first created and printed in Marseille in the early 1800s.
The overall design is classical, yet has modern aspects that foreshadow later Cubism.
Another notable feature is the inscription "AN-X" on the DENIER (gold coin) II card, which stands for "Year 10 of the French Revolutionary Calendar."
This reprint is limited to 1,500 copies and comes with two serial numbered explanatory cards, one in English and one in French.

The deck consists of 78 cards in total, 22 called the Major Arcana and 56 called the Minor Arcana.
The composition follows the Marseille versions of No. 8 "IVSTICE (Justice)" and No. 11 "LA FORCE (Strength)".
The Minor Arcana consists of four suits: "BASTON (Wand)", "COVPE (Holy Grail)", "DESPEE (Swords)", and "DENIER (Coin)".
The court cards are "ROY = King", "REINE = Queen", "CAVALLIER = Knight", and "VALET = Page".
The back of the coin is indistinguishable between upright and reversed. The coin comes in a hard case with a lid.
