The Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot was designed by Aleister Crowley, known as the greatest magician of the 20th century, based on the teachings of the magical society, the Golden Dawn, and his own interpretations, and was illustrated by Frieda Harris.

The set consists of 78 cards, including 22 "Atyu" (Major Arcana) cards and 56 "Small Cards" (Minor Arcana) cards. Each card has an English title and a serial number.

The Major Arcana cards, which in the Rider-Waite-Smith and Marseille versions are "The Magician," "Justice," and "Strength," have been changed to "The Magus," "Adjustment," and "Lust." The Minor Arcana court cards, which were "King," "Queen," "Knight," and "Page" in the Rider-Waite-Smith and Marseille versions, have also been changed to "Knight," "Queen," "Princesse," and "Princess."
