[Reprint of the oldest tarot cards]
The Visconti-Sforza deck is known as the oldest surviving Tarot deck.
These cards are said to have been created around 1460 by the Duke of Milan, Francesco Sforza, at the request of the painter Bonifacio Bembo (although some say it was Antonio Cicogna). The design is slightly different from the current standard tarot deck, and four cards, such as the Devil and the Tower, are missing. It is unclear whether these cards were lost or never existed.
In addition, these cards have been added and restored to the Visconti-Sforza edition currently being resold under the supervision of Pietro Alligo.
