The Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot was designed by Aleister Crowley, known as the 20th century magician, based on the teachings of the magical society, the Golden Dawn, and his own interpretations, and was illustrated by Frieda Harris.

Like the Rider-Waite version, it is based on the teachings of the Golden Dawn, but the names of the Major Arcana and Minor Arcana cards have been changed.

The set consists of 78 cards, including 22 "Atyu" (Major Arcana) cards and 56 "Small Cards" (Minor Arcana) cards. Each card has an English title and a serial number.

The Major Arcana, which in the Rider-Waite-Smith and Marseille versions are "THE MAGICIAN," "JUSTICE," and "STRENGTH," have been changed to "The Magus," "Adjustment," and "Lust."

In addition, the Minor Arcana court cards have been changed from "KING", "QUEEN", "KNIGHT", and "PAGE" to "KNIGHT", "QUEEN", "PRINCE", and "PRINCESS".
